Education Committee

The Education Committee is responsible for spearheading the political education work of the Local, aimed at both members and the broader public. This work includes presenting educational content during general meetings, producing written materials, forming reading groups, hosting public educational events, assisting with the Local’s public messaging, and supporting other committees and working groups.

The Education Committee endeavors to provide regular opportunities for members to give brief presentations. If you have a topic you are passionate about or a project you would like to educate others on, contact the Education Committee: education@olydsa.org!

One on-going project of the Education Committee has been the podcast Radio Socialist Olympia. Check it out here!

For anyone interested in what DSA is doing nationally for political education work, take a look at the National Political Education Committee. This is a great resource, especially for those who want to learn from other chapters on how to run political education classes and trainings. Sometimes we don't have to reinvent the wheel!
